Alex started tattooing at the age of 14, practicing on his own skin in Italy. It was a hobby then, something that occupied his time, but unbeknownst to Alex, he was laying the foundation to what would become one of the most prolific careers in the history of tattoo.
Alex can create on a wide range, but he shines when it comes to photorealistic portraits. From immortalizing loved ones and iconic characters, to fantasy portraits, his work seems to jump off the skin and exist beyond boundaries. With the ability to capture expression and emotion in each portrait while expressing the subtleties that so many artists overlook, Alex has become one of the best artists out there.
Alex’s professional career kicked of in 1997 when he opened his first shop in Grado, Italy, but he quickly expanded in 2003 due to high demand and limited space. Throughout his career, Alex has honed a deep respect for the art of tattooing and for art in general. In the early years he worked tirelessly to combat the idea that tattoos were taboo, highlighting instead their rich history. Today he focuses on expanding his skill set beyond skin with oil painting and airbrush. It forces him to hone in on the more technical aspects of tattoo and create a layering technique that makes his work stand out without damaging the skin.
And when it comes to ink, Alex turns to Intenze because he believes that quality in the right colors can help artists achieve what they set out to. In collaboration with Alex, we’ve created a line of flesh tones to share his style with aspiring artists.
